I took a look at 110 of the Managing Directors (or the equivalent) from the Top 20 Venture Capital Firms by Investment. This is only a small data sample of the hundreds of venture capital managing directors out there. Nonetheless, this chart may give you a glance into some of the most popular colleges of leaders in venture capitalism. Overall, the results were extremely diverse, with over 50 colleges represented in total. However, a few colleges made repeated appearances. Which Graduate School Managing Directors attended appeared to be much more important.
The Top 10 includes (in order): Stanford, Harvard, Dartmouth, MIT, Princeton, Berkeley, UPenn, Cornell, Duke, Illinois, and Rice.
